This page shows some of the work I have done over the years. It is a real mixed bag of work that has inspiration from many sources. I find that if I get an idea for a piece of work, it takes hold of me and I just can’t let it go until I make it real. Some of these ideas will brew for a while, but eventually I will attempt to recreate the idea in wood. Sometimes I have to experiment with a new technique in order to complete the piece. Part of the fun for me is figuring out how to overcome some of the obstacles.
I completed Sweet Maple for the Maple Medley showcase at the 2010 AAW symposium in Hartford. Here is a little article that I wrote for the entry into the jury process and which appears in a booklet of the show.
I got an idea to do a little play on turned hollow forms with Squeeze and Squeezed. They were fun, and both proved to be learning experiences. Squeezed was on the cover of the fall 2010 issue of Woodturning Design.
Inversion, Aquawaves and Warped were all inspired by work from the op art movement.
